Claire J. Harris is an award-winning screenwriter and film producer, based in Melbourne Australia. She is a writer on the upcoming Netflix series, Dive Club, which is targeted at the female YA market, and will commence production in September 2020.
In 2017, Claire released Zelos, her debut independent feature film as writer and producer. The film enjoyed a well-received run on the international festival circuit, before being screened across six states and territories in Australia.
Claire currently has two feature screenplays in development with Brisbane’s Steve Jaggi Company (Rip Tide, Back of the Net, Swimming For Gold) – scheduled for production in 2020 and 2021.
With the percentage of female writers on Australian feature films at just 27% and female characters representing only 30% of the total, according to Screen Australia data, Claire is committed to creating compelling female characters for the big and small screens.
Claire holds a Masters in Writing, and a Graduate Certificate in Screenwriting from the Australian Film Television and Radio School. In addition to screenwriting, her short stories and creative non-fiction have won prizes and been published both in Australia and internationally.
